Channel 5’s critically-acclaimed original crime drama Suspects will return for a third series in January.
Suspects stars Fay Ripley, Damien Molony and Clare-Hope Ashitey and will air 4 brand new episodes over one fortnight when it returns.
The new series opens with the return of DS Jack Weston (Damien Molony) after his period of enforced leave. DI Martha Bellamy (Fay Ripley) is pleased to have Jack back, but makes no bones about it: this is his last chance… The team is called to a sixth form college, where a popular art teacher has been found with life-threatening head injuries – who has brutally assaulted her?
The guest cast for the new series includes Emmett J. Scanlan, (The Fall, Constantine, Hollyoaks), Chris Coghill, (24 Hour Party People, EastEnders), Jody Latham (Shameless, Waterloo Road), Ben Peel (The Fall, Hunger), Ray Fearon (Da Vinci’s Demons, The Hooligan Factory), Lucy Gaskell (Misfits, Casualty), and Kathryn Drysdale (Benidorm, Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps).
Suspects was commissioned at Channel 5 by Ben Frow, Director of Programmes, Suspects is series-produced by Kara Manley (The Bill, Holby City, Hollyoaks) for Newman Street (part of FremantleMedia UK), and co-created and executive-produced by Paul Marquess (The Bill, Footballers’ Wives, Hollyoaks).
