Paul Akister leaves The X Factor 2014

The singer is the eighth act to leave the competition.

Paul Akister

Paul Akister is the eighth contestant to leave The X Factor 2014.

In the results show tonight Paul found out that he was in the bottom two along with Jay James. Both singers were criticised during last night’s live show and we predicted they would be in the bottom two tonight.

During the sing-off Paul sang Emeli Sande’s Clown and Jay sang Eric Clapton’s Tears In Heaven. Once both acts had performed again it was over to the judges to make their decision.

Cheryl and Mel B both chose to save Paul and Louis and Simon chose to save Jay. That forced the decision to deadlock and it was revealed that Paul received the fewest votes from the public.

Sam Smith and One Direction both performed during tonight’s results show with the latter confirming that they are about to announce UK dates for their 2015 tour.

The X Factor 2014 continues Saturday at 8pm on ITV.
