The Strain switched gears in the latest episode as the full horror of the outbreak sunk in for Eph (Corey Stoll) and Nora (Mia Maestro).
Following an autopsy on the body of Captain Redfern (Jonathan Potts), the duo realised what they were up against and also discovered that their colleague Jim (Sean Astin) had helped set the mysterious box free in New York. The end of the episode saw Abraham Setrakian (David Bradley) save Eph and Nora and explaining that they need to behead the victims of the virus and burn their bodies. The realisation drove a wedge between Eph and Nora as Nora couldn’t agree to murdering people.
Elsewhere in the episode Ansel (Nikolai Witschl) completed his transformation and tried to keep himself away from his wife after killing their dog. She used her husband’s new-found lust for blood to kill off their whining neighbour!
The next episode of the season is Runaways. Abraham goes on a mission to see the infection for himself and is accompanied by Ephraim. More victims emerge.
