The past two days we’ve been putting the spotlight on The X Factor 2014 finalist first with the Girls and yesterday with the Boys.
Today it’s the turn of the Groups and first up is boy/girl group Only The Young aka Charlie (17), Parisa (20), Mikey (19) and Betsy Blue (18).
The group brought something different to the audition stages and revealed that they all live together as they try to crack the charts. At the judges’ houses stage of the competition Louis Walsh and his helper Tulisa worried that the group may be too clean cut but still decided to take them through to the live shows.
Talking about getting through to the final the group says, “It’s so much to take in – Louis really made us think we were going home so when he said the words ‘you’re through to lives’ we collapsed on the floor crying. It’s such a big opportunity and a big deal it won’t hit us until we sing on the first week.”
How are they feeling about their makeovers? “We’re really excited about the makeovers – you don’t get professionals doing your hair and make up everyday and I think it will make us feel more like a pop band.”
What are they looking forward to most about the live shows? “I think we’re most looking forward to showing people what we’re about – bringing a twist to the show hopefully. We want to show both the show audience and the audience at home what Only the Young is all about.”
The X Factor 2014 live shows begin at 7.30pm on Saturday on ITV. Watch Only The Young’s judges’ houses performance below:
