The X Factor wouldn’t be the same show if a new band wasn’t created part way through the process would it?
This year a boyband and a girlband were put together during Bootcamp but only the boyband has made it through to the live shows. The boyband doesn’t have a name yet but it consists of Barclay Beales (19), Chris Leonard (19), Casey Johnson (19), Jake Sims (19), James Graham (17), Tom Mann (20), Charlie Jones (14) and Reece Bibby (16).
Under the watchful eye of Louis Walsh, the new boyband are set to be the new One Direction but will they go on to win the competition?
Speaking about getting through to the live shows the boys say, “It feels amazing. It’s the best feeling in the world as we didn’t think we were going through. Just before Louis told us we had really bad vibes. He said to us ‘Boys it’s not good news’. But he believed in us and here we are now.”
How are they feeling about their X Factor makeovers? “Looking forward to it, until they say hair! They know what they’re doing though. They’re going to make us look handsome… hopefully!”
What are they most looking forward to about the live shows? “We’re looking forward to experimenting. Every time we’ve rehearsed and performed it’s been exciting, because we’ve only just been put together. We cannot wait to learn new songs and to have more time to practice. There are so many things we can do between us in the group, from playing the piano and guitar to rapping.”
The X Factor 2014 live shows kick off at 7.30pm on Saturday on ITV. Watch the new boyband’s judges’ houses performance:
