Hill Valley Stores open for Back to the Future business

Secret Cinema presents Back to the Future is fast approaching and will certainly be the outdoor cinema event of the year. Hill Valley Stores has popped up in London to get the ball rolling and ties in well to the Back to the Future legacy. The store is now open to the public on East London’s Hackney Road so EF went along to see the sights.

The Hill Valley Stores includes Ruth’s Frock Shop and Roy’s Records, 1950s fashion and vinyl stock, sourced to give ticket holders and the general public a first glimpse into the world of Secret Cinema presents Back to the Future and a chance to shop for vintage costumes ahead of the event, which runs from the 24th July until the 31st August.

The staff are super-friendly and always in-character and the store’s stock of vintage clothing is good. We are particularly excited about the Enchantment Under the Sea t-shirts! Speaking of, there are flyers and bill posters advertising the ‘dance’ which will close every performance of Secret Cinema: Back to the Future so make sure you have your glad rags ready.

We then stopped next door at Lou’s Diner for some fries and a milkshake. The back room is where you’ll find Roy’s Records and a jukebox with the interior made to look like a school prom. It’s small but given the location, that’s to be expected. It’s more the novelty fun-factor of actually having pop-ups open that are working towards this big BTTF event in the capital. The location is still unknown for Secret Cinema: BTTF but it has to be close by to these shops.
