Nashville renewed for a third season by ABC

After keeping fans waiting and fearing the worst, ABC finally confirmed that country drama Nashville will be back for a third season.

The show’s fate was hanging in the balance when the network announced the majority of its renewals omitting the Connie Britton and Hayden Panettiere fronted series. It’s believed that the hold-up came after negotiations over the length of the new season with the network wanting a shortened 13-episode season.

It has now been confirmed that Nashville’s third season will be a full 22-episodes which is music to our ears. The show is currently airing its second season which draws to a conclusion in the US on Wednesday.

Nashville airs on More4 here in the UK at 10pm on Thursdays and still has several weeks left to run.
