The long-awaited new adaptation of V.C. Andrews’ cult novel Flowers In The Attic finally arrives in the UK this week.
Starring Heather Graham, Ellen Burstyn and Kiernan Shipka, the feature-length drama tells the tale of a mother devoured by the drive to inherit vast sums of money at the expense of her children. As if that wasn’t bad enough the children are subjected to the cruelty of their ruthless grandmother.
Flowers In The Attic was originally made into a film in 1987 and starred Victoria Tennant and Kristy Swanson. The book, published in 1979, has caused plenty of controversy in its time due to some of its subject matter including incest and sex.
