Chris Evans’ Top 5 big screen appearances

We take a look at the Captain America stars best movies yet.

Chris Evans

Chris Evans is quite the Hollywood star these days thanks to his role as Captain America.

With the sequel due in cinemas on 26th March – Captain America: The Winter Soldier – we’ve taken a look back at Chris’ Top 5 moments on the big screen to date. Chris made his first appearance on our screens as Cary Baston in the short-lived 2000 series Opposite Sex.

Since then he’s been climbing the Hollywood ranks and is now one of the biggest action actors in the world.

Take a look at our list and see if you agree with our choices:

5. Fantastic Four (2005)

It may not have been the most sophisticated of Marvel’s big screen adventures but there was a whole lot of fun to be had in this enjoyable romp. Chris starred as Johnny Storm / Human Torch and brought a lot of comedy (and abs) to the table. We think it’s one of his most under-rated movies.

4. Not Another Teen Movie (2001)

Unfairly lumped with the Scary Movie films, Not Another Teen Movie is actually genuinely very, very funny and Chris is brilliant in it. He plays jock Jake Wyler who is trying to romance the school’s plain girl with hilarious consequences. The banana split scene is a classic too…

3. Cellular (2004)

Sure this was a bit hokey but it was a lot of fun. Chris stars Ryan, a young man who receives an emergency call from an older woman (Kim Basinger) who claims to have been kidnapped. You have to suspend reality but it’s a fantastic ride and Chris is awesome in it!

2. Captain America: The First Avenger (2011)

Chris’ first outing as Steve Rogers aka Captain America. The movie may not be the most-loved of the Marvel films but we thought it was infinitely better than Thor. With the sequel due in cinemas very soon we’re hoping that Chris will finally get a bit of credit of his acting skills.

1. Avengers Assemble (2012)

It had to be number one really didn’t it? Avengers Assemble was a juggernaut and Chris kept his head above the crowded cast with his solid performance. Is it too early to call this film a classic?
