Transworld are to publish Creativity, Inc, a new book by co-founder and President of Pixar Animation Studios Ed Catmull.
In the book Catmull reveals the ideals, principles and practices of Pixar taking fans to the nerve centre of the award-winning company. For the first time fans can read the inside story of Pixar’s rise to fame.
Catmull wrote Creativity, Inc with Amy Wallace and it also explores his experience with leadership, management, and the co-existence of art and commerce.
āPeople are inherently creative and able to solve problems,ā Catmull says. āEven the best companies, with the best intentions, erect barriers and send messages that inhibit employees and derail creativity, without meaning to ā or even realising that they are doing it. Only by reframing how we think about mistakes and acknowledging how little we see, can we open the door for others to create.ā
British and Commonwealth rights were acquired by Transworld Publisher Bill Scott-Kerr from Denise Cronin and Andy Ward at Random House Inc.
Creativity, Inc will be released on 10th April 2014.
