American Horror Story season 3 details confirmed

The first details for the upcoming third season of American Horror Story have been revealed.

Subtitled Coven, the third season of the hit FX show will focus on witches and be set in New Orleans. Creator Ryan Murphy has suggested that the new season will be set in modern day as opposed to the dual storyline of American Horror Story: Asylum which saw stories in the 60s and the modern day.

American Horror Story regulars Jessica Lange, Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Frances Conroy and Lily Rabe are all returning in new roles. Taissa Farmiga, who played one of the leads in the first season of the show, will return this season along with new cast member Kathy Bates.

Murphy has also said in an interview that viewers should expect a Romeo and Juliet youth story similar to that depicted in the first season between Taissa Famiga’s Violet and Evan Peters’ Tate.

We’ll bring you the latest news at it breaks but safe to say we’ll be tuning in when American Horror Story: Coven starts in the autumn.
