Alyssa Bonagura is bringing her story full circle with the release of two new tracks, ‘Circles' and ‘I Wanna Go,' taken from her forthcoming album ‘America’s Backroads,' arriving June 5. While both songs have already found success through other artists, this marks the first time Bonagura has recorded them herself, offering fans a more personal and authentic take on music that has long been part of her journey.
Having built a strong reputation as a songwriter for names like Morgan Evans and Jana Kramer, Bonagura is now reclaiming those milestones as an artist. ‘I Wanna Go' became a No. 1 hit for Evans in Australia while ‘Circles' marked her first breakthrough on U.S. country radio. Now revisited, both tracks carry a deeper emotional weight, particularly ‘Circles,' which has taken on new meaning as Bonagura prepares for her upcoming wedding, reflecting themes of fate, growth and finding your way to where you’re meant to be.
The release arrives alongside an exciting run of UK dates, beginning with an appearance at the Highways Festival at London’s iconic Royal Albert Hall on May 15. From there, Bonagura will embark on an eight-date headline UK tour in June, bringing her storytelling-led sound to intimate venues across the country.
UK Tour Dates:
June 10 – Birmingham – Hare & Hounds 2
June 11 – Manchester – The Lodge
June 12 – Bristol – Louisiana (Sold Out)
June 13 – Norwich – Waterfront Studio
June 17 – Glasgow – The Glad Café (Sold Out)
June 18 – Leeds – Hyde Park Book Club
June 19 – Nottingham – Bodega
June 20 – London – The Lower Third
Joining her on the road will be Jackie Lee, whose own journey through personal hardship and return to music adds another compelling dimension to the tour. Together, the run promises a blend of heartfelt storytelling and intimate live performances.
With ‘America’s Backroads,' Bonagura isn’t just revisiting her past, she’s reframing it. By bringing these songs back into her own voice, she bridges the gap between songwriter and artist, offering a project that feels both reflective and forward-looking as she steps into her next chapter.
