Caylee Hammack enters her revenge era on fiery new song ‘Breaking Dishes’

Caylee Hammack, an artist praised for her “depth of creativity and unshackled musical exploration” by Billboard, has released her latest single, ‘Breaking Dishes,' via Capitol Records Nashville. The track was co-written by Hammack alongside Mikey Reaves and Gordie Sampson.

‘Breaking Dishes' captures the raw emotion of a woman on the verge of ending a tumultuous relationship. With Hammack's powerful, “scorched-earth” vocals paired with a sharp, poignant melody, the song vividly portrays the storm brewing just before the final break. “Breaking Dishes is a sonic ‘eye for an eye.’ Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned, as they say,” Hammack explains. “I don’t make a habit of throwing things, but I wanted to create a song for scorned women to vent to. It fell out of the sky and into our laps one day in 2018, and now, six years later, it’s finally being shared with the world. Here we are, breaking dishes and breaking up.”

Hammack has also released a visualizer for the song, where she can be seen smashing a perfectly curated dining set in an East Nashville house. You can watch the visualiser below:

This release follows Hammack's recent collaboration with Northern Irish singer-songwriter Foy Vance on the track ‘The Hill.' The duet, praised for its “spectacular vocal delivery” and “passion in every note” by Music Row, features Hammack and Vance in a fiery exchange, showcasing their powerful chemistry. The song is accompanied by a behind-the-scenes visualiser that captures the intensity of their recording session.
