Review: Tucker Wetmore sets out his path to an arena return at O2 Forum Kentish Town in London

Tucker Wetmore is one of the fastest-rising stars in modern Country. The singer-songwriter made his UK debut as part of C2C in 2025, where he took to the main stage at The O2 and was one of the standouts of the weekend. Since then, Wetmore has released his debut album ‘What Not To’ and toured relentlessly, building himself a solid fanbase. The past few weeks he’s been touring Europe on his first international headline tour, ‘The Brunette World Tour’, and last night he performed the first of three sold-out shows at O2 Forum.

As the clock struck 9pm, Wetmore promptly arrived on stage and kicked off his set with ‘Proving Me Right’. Decked out in tight blue jeans and a denim shirt that was barely fastened, Wetmore immediately got screams and cheers from the audience before he sung a single word. The rowdy crowd continued all night with impromptu sing-a-longs, screams from female audience member for Wetmore to take his shirt off and plenty of cheering. Wetmore showcased not only his vocals but also his dance moves as he wiggled and shuffled across the stage, shaking his backside at the crowd on several occasions.

Wetmore pulled from ‘What Not To’ for his set list but he also treated fans to newer music and some covers too. Of the newer material ‘Your Song’ was part of an acoustic section where Wetmore took requests from the audience, and it showcased a softer side of the star. Of his own material current single ‘Sunburn’ sounded pretty epic live, and ‘What Not To’ standout out ‘3,2,1’ received one of the best reactions of the night. ‘Bad Luck Looks Good On Me’,  a song Wetmore said was one of his favourites, was another highlight later in the set with Wetmore’s vocals sounding superb.

The covers were broken into two medleys over the course of Wetmore’s set. The first was a pop/rock medley featuring covers of Gavin DeGraw (‘I Don’t Want To Be’), Maroon 5 (‘This Love’) and Train (‘Drops of Jupiter’). The second was a Country medley that saw Wetmore tackle The Georgia Satellites (‘Keep Your Hands To Yourself’), Hank Williams Jr. (‘All My Rowdy Friends Are Coming Over’) and Tim McGraw (‘I Like It, I Love It’).

Several times throughout the night, Wetmore shared his gratitude with the audience. He told us how he’d been looking forward to his headline shows in London, and his disbelief that he’d sold-out three consecutive nights. He came across as sincere and genuine, reinforcing the fact that he’s one of the nicest guys in Country music. A sing-a-long portion of ‘Wind Up Missin’ You’ saw Wetmore sink onto his heels as he took in the rapturous reception he was receiving.

To round out the night, Wetmore amped up the volume and the energy for a rousing rendition of his tour namesake ‘Brunette’. The song is a perfect showcase of how Wetmore straddles traditional and modern Country, and it ended the night on a high note. He may have played for 80 minutes but the audience would have happily listened to him for a lot longer.

There’s no doubt in my mind that we won’t see Wetmore in such a small venue again. With three sold-out nights in London under his belt, he’ll likely eyeing up the transition to arenas. He could easily sell-out Wembley Arena, and judging from the audience last night he’d have a good shot at returning to The O2 as a headliner. If ever there was proof that Country music is the fastest growing genre in the UK, you need look no further than Wetmore’s shows this week. With charisma for days, strong vocals and a magnetic stage presence, he’s leading the charge for modern Country and he’s in the process of reaping the rewards for his hard work.
