The Grand Ole Opry today announces the star-studded line up for its show at the Royal Albert Hall in London as part of the Opry100 celebrations. Luke Combs, Ashley McBryde, Carly Pearce, Darius Rucker and Marty Stuart will headline its first ever international broadcast on Friday 26th September. Tickets will go on sale on Friday May 23rd at 10am BST on the Royal Albert Hall's website.
In addition to the aforementioned American performers the show will also feature a line up of special UK guest artists which will be announced later in the summer. During the show fans can expect to hear a mix of classic and contemporary country music and just like the normal format of the Opry show in Nashville, each artist will perform between 2 and 4 songs.
Of the historic moment, Darius Rucker said,” Being a member of the Grand Ole Opry is a great honour; it's always felt like the Opry was my home away from home. To have the opportunity to bring such a big part of my musical roots to the Royal Albert Hall is a full-circle moment for me.”
Tickets are expected to sell quickly as fans seize the opportunity to experience this cultural moment outside of Nashville for the first time in Opry history. Fans unable to experience the show in person can listen to a live broadcast on MSM radio and on the Opry's official website. UK fans will also be able to listen to a full broadcast replay on BBC Radio 2 at a later date.
Leading up to the show, fans in the UK can catch up on the latest Grand Ole Opry performances as Opry Live begins airing on Sky Arts channel starting on Friday May 30th. The show will air weekly for 26 weeks, giving viewers a chance to experience the heart of Nashville before the historic show at the Royal Albert Hall in September.
The Opry is celebrating it's 100th birthday this year under the banner of the Opry100 branding and you can find out what other special events are happening alongside the London show right here.
