Carter Faith, one of Nashville’s fastest-rising stars, has officially announced the release of her highly anticipated debut album ‘Cherry Valley' due out October 3 via MCA. Alongside the announcement, she dropped a brand-new song from the project titled ‘Sex, Drugs and Country Music,' offering fans a first real taste of what’s to come. The visualizer for the track is also out now, and pre-orders for the album are available.
Described as her most personal work to date, Faith says the album has been her emotional anchor: “Every time I have slipped into a dark place (which I have a propensity for), this album has brought me out of it.” Crafted alongside her longtime producer Tofer Brown, Cherry Valley took shape over two years, charting Carter’s journey from her North Carolina roots to Music City, weaving in stories of heartbreak, personal growth, and late-night reflection.
The album is named after a road sign Faith once passed, a symbol that soon evolved into an imagined sanctuary where her musical and emotional worlds collide.
The record balances old-school country influences—think Tammy Wynette and Nancy Sinatra—with modern flair and a hint of ‘60s pop, drawing inspiration from ‘Pet Sounds' and ‘Revolver.' Its 15 tracks chronicle both personal and creative evolution, moving through early breakout moments, difficult goodbyes, and moments of healing. Previous singles “Grudge” and “If I Had Never Lost My Mind…” offered a preview of that emotional spectrum, building anticipation following the success of her ‘The Aftermath EP' which included a duet with Alison Krauss and earned praise from major outlets like Billboard and American Songwriter.
