Wicked announces star-studded 20th anniversary West End cast for 2026

The global musical sensation Wicked is preparing to celebrate a major milestone, unveiling its 20th Anniversary West End company set to take the stage at Apollo Victoria Theatre from Tuesday, 19 May 2026. The new cast will lead a landmark year for the production, culminating in a special anniversary weekend on 26–27 September, with priority ticket access now open to fans ahead of general sale.

Leading the anniversary company is Emma Kingston as Elphaba, fresh from winning Best Takeover Performance at the 2026 WhatsonStage Awards. She stars opposite Zizi Strallen as Glinda, forming a dynamic central duo for the celebratory run. Joining them is Jordan Litz, who makes his West End debut as Fiyero after more than 1,700 performances in the role across Broadway and the U.S. tour—making him the longest-running Fiyero in the show’s history.

The new principal cast also includes Olivier Award nominee Claire Machin as Madame Morrible and Yara Fabricante, who makes her West End debut as Nessarose. Returning cast members include Michael Matus as The Wizard, David McKechnie as Doctor Dillamond and Ross Carpenter as Boq, alongside a full ensemble bringing renewed energy to the long-running production.

Based on Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West by Gregory Maguire, and featuring music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz with a book by Winnie Holzman, Wicked continues to reimagine the world of The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. The story follows the unlikely friendship between Elphaba and Glinda, charting their journey from university companions to the iconic figures known as the Wicked Witch of the West and Glinda the Good.

As the current 2025/26 company prepares for its final performance on 17 May 2026, anticipation is already building for this anniversary era. Two decades on, Wicked remains one of the West End’s most beloved and enduring productions—and this new cast looks set to honour its legacy while ushering in an exciting new chapter.
