Fast-rising country newcomer Elizabeth Nichols has released her latest single, ‘Little Birds,' a witty commentary on small-town gossip and the speed at which news travels. Out now via PULSE Records, the playful track flips the familiar phrase “a little bird told me” into a cheeky anthem for anyone who knows how fast word can spread when everyone’s business is public. Nichols co-wrote the song with producer Travis Heidelman and Feli Ferraro.
“Since I moved from Tulsa to Nashville, every week my friends call me and update me about everything going on with exes and friends and what people were saying about me,” Nichols said. “It was like I hadn't even left even though I was 800 miles away! It just goes to show, it doesn't matter where you are or how old you are, people love spilling tea and yapping about other people…but sometimes they forget, the grapevine is much shorter in a small town.”
The track has already struck a chord online, with teasers amassing more than 4 million views and sparking hundreds of TikTok videos, along with over 9,000 pre-saves. Nichols has been steadily gaining momentum, building an engaged fanbase through viral moments and songs released by popular demand.
Earlier this year, her ballad ‘Daughter' captivated listeners, while her breakout hit ‘I Got A New One' climbed to No. 1 on the iTunes Country chart, earned a Kellyoke cover on The Kelly Clarkson Show, and racked up more than 19 million streams. The viral success helped Nichols debut at No. 25 on Billboard’s Emerging Artist Chart and secure features on major playlists across Spotify, Apple Music, and Amazon. Named Billboard’s Country Rookie of the Month in June, Nichols is quickly establishing herself as one of Nashville’s most promising new voices.
