Over the weekend of 13 September 2025 at the Born & Raised Festival in Oklahoma, Zach Bryan and Gavin Adcock came to blows verbally, nearly physically. Bryan scaled a barbed-wire fence to confront Adcock, shouted threats (“If they open up this gate…”) and tried to get to him as security intervened.
The beef started earlier, in July, after a teenage fan was disappointed by Bryan not meeting fans post-concert. Adcock publicly criticised Bryan’s response, calling it immature and accusing him of wearing a false public mask. Adcock has said he didn’t want to fight because he had a headline show to play, didn’t want legal trouble, and believes Bryan was drunk (“absolutely wasted”) when he jumped the fence.
This incident underscores that even modern country stars can be part of very public, heated feuds with physical posturing. It got us to thinking……… what if Country music's 10 toughest men went up against each other in a bracket style knockout?
The first job was to compile the list of 10:
- Riley Green — Former college QB, outdoorsman toughness.
- Sam Hunt — Another ex–college QB, tall and athletic.
- Gavin Adcock — Former Division I offensive lineman, pure size and grit.
- Kane Brown — Street-fight background, strong and athletic.
- Zach Bryan — Navy veteran, disciplined and scrappy.
- Morgan Wallen — Wild bar-fight energy.
- Parker McCollum — Tall, lean, and built for stamina.
- Hardy — Big frame, gym rat, rowdy personality.
- Koe Wetzel – Rowdy outlaw in the past, unpredictable drunk scrapper.
- Brantley Gilbert — MMA-trained, outlaw energy, muscle and grit.

Semifinals
- (10) Brantley Gilbert vs (2) Sam Hunt
Hunt has height and speed, but Gilbert’s aggression and fight training grind him down.
Winner: Brantley Gilbert - (3) Gavin Adcock vs (4) Kane Brown
Kane fights hard, but Adcock’s mass and power dominate.
Winner: Gavin Adcock
Championship: Brantley Gilbert vs Gavin Adcock
- Adcock: a bulldozer — massive, heavy hands, football toughness.
- Gilbert: MMA-trained, precise, mean, and battle-tested.
Adcock charges, but Gilbert avoids the clinch, lands steady counters, and finally drops the giant with a clean strike.
And just like Toby Keith once sang:
“I ain’t as good as I once was, but I’m as good once as I ever was.”
That one moment of perfect grit secures it for Brantley one last time before he moves up into the veterans bracket!
🏆 Champion: Brantley Gilbert — Still the Toughest Fighter in Country Music 2025
