Scoot Teasley races against the changing seasons on new song ‘Runnin’ Outta Summer’

Rising singer-songwriter Scoot Teasley has released his latest track, Runnin' Outta Summer,' a nostalgic windows-down anthem that arrives just in time for the back-to-school season. The song tells the story of a young man racing against time to confess his feelings before his love interest heads back to college.

“We wrote ‘Runnin' Outta Summer' back in the summer of '23, and it's one I've been ready to release since the day we finished it,” Teasley shared. “I hope this song takes listeners back to that summer love you never really wanted to slip away — windows down, music up and nothing on your mind but the moment. It feels good to finally share this one.”

Co-written by Teasley, Mason Thornley, and Jon Stark, the new track follows his deeply personal single ‘Tower Road,' which paid tribute to his roots in Toccoa, Georgia. That release featured audio from his grandfather and reflected on the dirt road and community that shaped him.

Teasley’s growing catalog in 2025 also includes ‘Whiskey Burns,' ‘Dirt Road Dropout' and ‘Gone To Dust.' MusicRow praised the latter, noting, “his singing is warmly forceful and the percussion touches are ear-catching on this depiction of the end of a relationship. The muscular production matches the potency of his performance of this midtempo rouser.”

Named a Nashville Briefing 2024 Artist to Watch and a Tidal Rising Artist, Teasley is taking his music nationwide this fall as part of Lily Rose’s tour. Beginning September 11, the run will stop in major markets such as New York, Boston, and Atlanta. He has also built momentum in Nashville with performances at The Basement, Whiskey Jam, Tin Pan South Songwriters Festival, and CMA Fest.
