The wait is over – the first trailer for ‘I Know What You Did Last Summer' is here and dare we say we're optimistic.
The reboot is direted by Jennifer Jennifer Kaytin Robinson and produced by Neal H. Moritz. As with the ‘Scream' franchise reboot, the surviving OGs – Jennifer Love Hewitt and Freddie Prinze Jr. – appear in the film but they aren't the main characters. Peep the new trailer below:
Alongside Love Hewitt and Prinze Jr. the cast includes Madelyn Cline, Chase Sui Wonders, Jonah Hauer-King, Tyriq Withers, Sarah Pidgeon, Billy Campbell, Gabbriette Bechtel, Austin Nichols, Lola Tung and Nicholas Alexander Chavez. The trailer for the film promises to be a lot gorier than the original films, and there's an extended sequence at the start featuring a harpoon and, of course, the fisherman's hook.
When five friends inadvertently cause a deadly car accident, they cover up their involvement and make a pact to keep it a secret rather than face the consequences. A year later, their past comes back to haunt them and they’re forced to confront a horrifying truth: someone knows what they did last summer…and is hell-bent on revenge. As one by one the friends are stalked by a killer, they discover this has happened before, and they turn to two survivors of the massacre of 1997 for help.
‘I Know What You Did Last Summer' will be released in cinemas on 18th July 2025.
