Avery Anna announces new album ‘let go letters’ inspired by her fans’ stories

Warner Music Nashville’s Avery Anna has announced the release of her highly anticipated sophomore album ‘let go letters,' set to arrive on May 16. The project takes a deeply personal turn as each song draws directly from letters written by fans who shared their most vulnerable experiences with the rising country artist.

Avery’s unique “let go letters” concept has long provided a safe space for her community of listeners to release heavy emotions and memories by writing them down. After reading countless letters about body dysmorphia, depression, addiction, self-worth, and more, Avery began transforming these shared experiences into music. The result is a 15-track collection that places her fans’ stories at the heart of the album, offering a message of solidarity and hope.

Alongside the album announcement, Avery released a powerful new song from the project titled ‘danny don’t.' Written solely by Avery, the emotional ballad is a response to a letter handed to her by a man at a live show who was struggling with suicidal thoughts. The stripped-back production allows Avery’s pleading vocals to shine as she delivers a heartfelt letter back to him in song form, addressing men’s mental health with raw sincerity. She also posted a video discussing the story behind the song and album, including a trigger warning for those who may need it.

“I’ve learned that everyone wants to escape the hard things that are going on in their lives,” Avery shared. “It was really hard for me to know that the people at my shows are going through similar things that I’m going through because they are singing the songs with me, and they relate to them. But I have a way to deal with that by singing about my experiences on stage, and they may not have that outlet.”

She continued, “Reading these letters was super heavy. There were so many topics that I don’t know if they could say them out loud, but they could write them down. It inspired me so much that I started writing songs about their experiences myself, and then this album came to life. My biggest hope is that people will hear it and they’ll feel understood. I think the highest form of love is to be understood.”

‘let go letters' follows Avery’s 2024 debut album ‘Breakup Over Breakfast' and features previously released fan-favourite tracks like ‘Mr. Predictable' and ‘Wish You Well.' The latter was praised by MusicRow as an “audio delight.” With ‘let go letters,' Avery Anna solidifies her place as one of country music’s most empathetic and emotionally driven new voices.
