Tanner Adell continues to rip up the rule book on new ‘Cowboy Break My Heart’

Country music sensation Tanner Adell continues to break new ground, becoming the first female Country artist to perform at the BET Awards on June 30th. Adell's electrifying debut of her new single ‘Cowboy Break My Heart' is already making waves, with VIBE highlighting her role in keeping Country music at the forefront of mainstream conversations.

Reflecting on her performance, Adell said, “This song is simply a bop. Though it is a track I want my fans to have fun with, I think it also shows how powerful heartbreak can be and how it doesn't go away just like that. This guy – who was a massive Dallas Cowboys fan, hence the title – did some damage to my heart, but it led to some great songs of mine like ‘I Hate Texas' and ‘Whiskey Blues.' Safe to say I'll be leaving that ‘Cowboy' in the past, but what an empowering moment to debut the song on the BET Awards stage.”

‘Cowboy Break My Heart,' written by Adell along with Akil “worldwidefresh” King, Stephen “Di Genius” McGregor, Will Weatherly, and Anthony Germaine White, marks her first release since signing with LVRN Records. The visualiser for the track was captured ahead of her BET Awards performance, further fuelling the excitement surrounding her latest work.

This release follows Adell's feature on the 2024 Twisters soundtrack with the track ‘Too Easy' which NYLON praised as a “beer-spilling, booty-shaking female Country-pop crossover” and UPROXX proclaimed as proof that “Tanner Adell is bound to be the voice of the Country music landscape.” Earlier this year, Adell shined with her television debut of ‘Whiskey Blues' on The Jennifer Hudson Show, a performance that paired perfectly with her viral hit ‘Buckle Bunny.'

Adell's career continues to ascend, marked by significant milestones in 2024. Her cover of ‘Drunk In Love (Apple Music Sessions)' reached the top of the Apple Trending chart upon release. As a 2024 CMT Next Women of Country artist, Adell made her Billboard Hot 100 debut with ‘Blackbird' a collaboration on Beyoncé's ‘COWBOY CARTER' album, which led to a dramatic 1,500%+ increase in her Spotify monthly listeners. Recognised by The New York Times as one of seven artists shaping the sound of 2024, Adell has amassed over 153 million global streams and counting.

Last summer, Adell released her debut mixtape, Buckle Bunny, an eight-song collection filled with female-empowerment anthems blending Country roots with pop vocals and hip-hop beats. As a co-writer on each track, Adell crafted energetic tunes reflecting her personal narrative as a biracial woman embracing her true self. She followed up with Buckle Bunny Deluxe, featuring hits like ‘Backroad' and ‘Luke Combs,' and concluded the era with ‘Buckle Bunny Stripped,' a reimagined, acoustic take on her debut EP that reveals the emotional depth behind her glamorous anthems.

Stay tuned for more from Tanner Adell as she continues to redefine the Country music landscape with her powerful voice and innovative sound.
