Inspiration from the Past
Reflecting on the song's origins, Dean shares, “Before I made my way to Nashville, I lived in an old cinderblock shack on my grandfather’s land in Maryland. Every night around midnight, I’d hear a freight train passing by. One night, the whistle got me thinking about where it came from, where it was going, and how that paralleled my own journey. We wrote the song inspired by that moment and let our imagination run wild.”
A Team Effort
‘Train' was penned by Dean along with his bandmates Brandon Aksteter, Rich Kolm, Sean Mercer, and producer Luke Dick. Originally released as a live track, it has become a staple in Dean's live performances. This collaborative team also released the song ‘Big Blue Sky' last month to enthusiastic reviews. Country Central calls it a “refreshing” song that “could be his most impressive track to date,” while here at Entertainment Focus, we described it as “a must-listen for fans of authentic, emotionally charged country music.” All Country News praises it as a track that captures Dean's ability to create deeply personal and universally resonant music.

Earlier this month, Dean wowed audiences at CMA Fest with his powerful vocal performances, including his debut at Nissan Stadium in front of 60,000 fans.
