Omar Apollo sets June release for new album ‘God Said No’

Omar Apollo will release his second album ‘God Said No' on 28th June 2024 via Warner Records.

The announcement comes with new single ‘Dispose of Me' and an accompanying live video for the track featuring a 14-piece ensemble. You can watch the live performance below:

For the live performance Apollo put a new spin on ‘Dispose of Me' with his band, his collaborators and his closest friends. ‘God Said No' was executive produced by Teo Haim and features musician Mustafa and actor Pedro Pascal.

The album title is Apollo’s interpretation of “lo que sera, sera” which translates to “whatever will be, will be” or “it is what it is.” The phrase embodies the album with Apollo's tongue-in-cheek humorous outlook on the suffering that comes from surrendering and accepting whatever is thrown at you by life, a relationship or lover.

‘God Said No' is the follow-up to 2021 debut album ‘Ivory', which earned Apollo a Best New Artist nomination at the 2023 Grammys. Recording in London's Abbey Road Studios with producers Haim, Carter Lang and Blake Slatkin, Apollo put together a 14-track album which explores the emotional wreckage following the end of a torrid love affair.
