Nate Smith, recently named the Academy of Country Music's New Male Artist of the Year, has released his new single ‘Bulletproof' featuring Avril Lavigne. The duo is set to perform the track together at the 59th ACM Awards tonight in Frisco, Texas. Hosted by Reba McEntire, the awards will be streamed globally for free on Prime Video from 8 PM ET (May 16) / 1 AM UK time (May 17).
Smith's latest release comes from his 7-track EP ‘Through The Smoke' which was launched last month via Sony Nashville. The EP includes his current US radio single ‘Bulletproof,' which is currently at #15 on the Billboard Country Airplay chart. The project also features five new songs and a cover of Nirvana’s ‘Heart Shaped Box.'
With over 1.3 billion career streams, Nate Smith has made a significant impact on the country music scene. Earlier this year, he dominated Billboard’s Country Airplay chart with a ten-week consecutive run at the top with his smash hit single ‘World On Fire,' amassing over 210 million global streams. This achievement ties Morgan Wallen’s record for the longest run at No. 1 with ‘You Proof' and makes Smith the first artist to achieve such a feat with a second single at country radio and a consecutive week run.
In 2023, only 19 songs reached No. 1 on the Billboard Country Airplay chart, with two of those belonging to Smith. Both ‘World on Fire' and ‘Whiskey On You' are featured on his self-titled debut album.
Fans can tune in to see Nate Smith and Avril Lavigne’s live performance of ‘Bulletproof' at the ACM Awards. Don't miss this exciting collaboration and celebration of country music's finest talents.
