Jeremie Albino’s much-anticipated album ‘Our Time In The Sun' has officially arrived, showcasing the musician’s raw talent and magnetic energy that No Depression has called “a talent to be reckoned with.” Released on Easy Eye Sound, Albino’s latest project delivers the dynamic energy of his live performances, bolstered by the expertise of acclaimed collaborators like The Dap-Kings’ Tommy Brenneck, Pat McLaughlin, Tom Bukovac, Barrie Cadogan of Little Barrie, Malcolm Catto of The Heliocentrics, and legendary session musician Bobby Wood.
The album is co-produced by GRAMMY-winning Dan Auerbach, who was instantly captivated by Albino’s music after discovering it online. Bonded by a love of classic soul and blues artists like Irma Thomas, The Charmels, and George Jackson, Albino and Auerbach spent time exploring Auerbach’s vinyl collection, a creative exchange that inspired ‘Our Time In The Sun”s sessions. Auerbach has described the experience of working with Albino as “a dream,” praising him as “a musician so comfortable with who he is that he puts everyone at ease and brings people together through his music.”
Raised on a rural Ontario farm, Albino’s musical journey has been anything but conventional. He started by performing for farmers market crowds in Toronto before taking his music overseas, busking throughout Europe and exchanging songs for accommodations along the way. These street performances honed his craft, igniting his passion for live shows that eventually graduated from sidewalks to sold-out venues.
Albino’s live shows have reached new levels recently, including a powerful set at the Easy Eye Fish Fry in Nashville this September. Sharing the stage with heavyweights like Dan Auerbach, Patrick Carney of The Black Keys, Nathaniel Rateliff, and Black Pumas’ Adrian Quesada, Albino’s ability to command the stage and connect with audiences was undeniable.
With ‘Our Time In The Sun' Albino captures the spirit and spontaneity of those performances in studio form, pairing timeless melodies with a modern edge. His upcoming tour will give fans across North America a chance to witness this electric live energy firsthand, with shows planned for iconic venues including the Troubadour in Los Angeles on February 20 and Toronto’s 1,500-capacity Danforth Music Hall on April 4.
