Carrie Underwood becomes the highest certified female Country artist in RIAA History

Carrie Underwood has officially made history, becoming the highest RIAA Certified female country artist of all time. MCA and the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) announced today that the 8-time GRAMMY Award winner has surpassed 95 million certified units in the U.S. alone, including 22.5 million albums and 72.5 million singles across her solo releases and collaborations. The achievement further cements Underwood’s status as one of country music’s most successful and influential artists of all time.

“Accomplishments like this are more than I would have ever dared to dream of when I was starting out,” said Underwood. “I owe everything to the fans, who have literally voted for me from the beginning of my career and have showed up and given me so much love for over 20 years. I feel truly blessed.” MCA President and CEO Mike Harris added, “This monumental achievement solidifies Carrie Underwood's legacy as a generational talent and a true titan of the music industry.”

To celebrate the milestone, Underwood was presented with a commemorative plaque following her recent Grand Ole Opry performance. Among her highest RIAA certifications are her 9x Platinum debut album ‘Some Hearts,' as well as massive hits including ‘Before He Cheats' (11x Platinum), ‘Blown Away' (5x Platinum), and ‘Cowboy Casanova' (4x Platinum). Her collaboration with Cody Johnson, ‘I’m Gonna Love You,' recently achieved Platinum status, and her original holiday track ‘Favourite Time of Year,' from her ‘My Gift (Special Edition)' album, has now been certified Gold.

With over 100 major awards to her name—including 8 GRAMMYs, 16 ACM Awards, and 25 CMT Music Awards—Underwood continues to be one of the defining voices in country music. Across her career, she’s recorded 29 No. 1 singles, eight multi-Platinum or Platinum albums, and has seen all 10 of her albums debut in the Top 10 of the Billboard 200. Nearly two decades after her debut, Carrie Underwood’s influence shows no signs of slowing down.
