As he gears up for the follow-up to his 2024 album Into The Neon, Hereford, Texas native Randall King has released his latest single, “Thinkin’ ’Bout Drinkin’,” available everywhere now. The slow-burning track offers an early glimpse into his next chapter, delivering the honky-tonk heart and traditional country grit that have become hallmarks of his sound.
“I've been thinkin' 'bout how excited I am for this new chapter – so what better day than today to share an early taste of what we've got cooking?” King shared. “‘Thinkin’ ’Bout Drinkin’’ is country music delivered right to your ears, courtesy of the Tonk machine. I hope you enjoy it, because there's more like it coming soon…”
Written by Don Sampson, Monty Holmes and Troy Cassar-Daley and produced by Jared Conrad, the track finds its narrator wrestling with temptation in the wake of heartbreak. With lines like “There’s a bar and there’s a bottle just waitin’ / That don’t know how it’s gonna end,” King leans into the emotional pull between regret and release, capturing a moment that feels both familiar and foreboding.
The single marks King’s first release since signing with Neon Coast for artist management and serves as the latest preview of his forthcoming project. It follows the critical success of his sophomore album ‘Into The Neon,' released on January 26, 2024, which drew praise from outlets including Texas Monthly, while also earning spots on year-end best-of lists from ourselves and Whiskey Riff.
Known for maintaining a relentless touring schedule of nearly 150 shows a year, King is currently out on his 2026 Big Deal Tour and will join Luke Bryan on select dates of the upcoming Word On The Street Tour. He is also set to launch his 13-date A Long Way From Amarillo Europe 2026 Tour on May 4 in Oslo, Norway, continuing to bring his brand of traditional-leaning country music to audiences on both sides of the Atlantic.
