Canadian hard rock icons Harem Scarem have made a triumphant return with the release of their new lyric video for ‘Reliving History,' out now via Frontiers Music Srl. After nearly five years since their last music release, the band is reigniting their signature sound, much to the delight of their devoted fanbase.
Frontman Harry Hess expressed his excitement about the new track, stating, “It’s been almost five years since we’ve released any new music. We are thrilled to announce the release of our brand-new single, ‘Reliving History.' Looking forward to seeing everyone on the road this year. Enjoy!”
A Legacy of Melodic Hard Rock
Formed in 1987 by guitarist Pete Lesperance and vocalist Harry Hess, Harem Scarem quickly became one of Canada’s most esteemed melodic hard rock bands. With the addition of drummer Darren Smith and bassist Mike Gionet, the band gained widespread recognition, securing a deal with Warner Music and releasing their self-titled debut in 1991. The success of this album set the stage for 1993’s ‘Mood Swings,' a heavier, more dynamic record that remains a fan favourite and a cornerstone of their discography.
While Harem Scarem’s sound evolved over the years—including a brief name and stylistic change to Rubber between 1999 and 2001—their return to melodic hard rock with ‘Weight of the World' in 2002 reignited their international appeal. Signing with Frontiers Music Srl further solidified their presence in Europe, leading to a string of well-received albums, including ‘Thirteen' (2014), ‘United' (2017), and ‘Change the World' (2020).
Reigniting the Fire
Harem Scarem’s ability to craft soaring melodies, intricate guitar work, and compelling lyrics has earned them a dedicated following across the globe. With over a million records sold in 43 countries and 12 Top 40 hits, the band’s impact on the rock scene is undeniable. Their return with ‘Reliving History' signals a continuation of their legacy, promising more high-energy performances and new material.
Fans can expect to see Harem Scarem back on the road in 2025, with European tour dates set for the spring. Tickets for their show in London are on sale right here.
