Single, Out’ is back for its fourth and final season, consisting of 8 episodes that round out the story of Adam (Will Hutchins) and his friends. After rekindling things with Gabe (Jake Hyde) and getting engaged, Adam is on the countdown to his wedding and starting the next chapter of his life as a married man. As he and Gabe prepare, Adam must deal with the death of his uncle and an opportunity to launch his career. Will everything go smoothly? You bet it won’t!
‘Single, Out’ from writer/director Lee Galea has been an entertaining treat over the course of its four-season run and thankfully the series sticks the landing. While it’s bittersweet to be saying goodbye to Adam and his friends, ‘Single, Out’ ends on a high note by celebrating all the aspects of the show that made fans fall in love with it. There are plenty of laughs to be had, lots of sexy moments and some touching drama to ensure that it hits you right in the feels.

What this final season does so well is take Adam’s story to a natural conclusion, whilst checking in on all the characters that have appeared over the series. As always, Adam is chaotic and on the brink of messing everything up, but his heart is in the right place. His commitment to Gabe is a huge step for him, and it’s sweet to see how their love story plays out. Just be prepared for some naughty shenanigans along the way, including on the wedding day when Adam can’t get past his horniness.
Outside of the wedding storyline, Adam reconnects with loves from his past and deals with family drama. The death of his uncle sends him into the orbit of his cousin Collin (Alfie Baker), who has plenty of drama of his own. Adam’s unreliable flighty mother appears throughout the final season, providing plenty of curveballs and an unexpected surprise. The season also gives you a chance to catch up with series favourites such as Theo (Jack Brophy) and Adam’s brothers Clay (Steven Christou) and Ethan (Joel Nankervis) too.

At the centre of it all is the excellent Will Hutchins as Adam. He’s done such a fantastic job throughout the series and he’s transformed Adam into a multi-faceted character that you really care about. As adept at comedy as he is drama, Hutchins has got a very bright future ahead and I’m sure he’ll be popping up in plenty of things. He really has been the anchor for the show and he’s driven it forward with his brilliant performance.
‘Single, Out’ will be missed by hopefully the series will make a comeback in some guise in the future. There’s more story that could be told here so I’m hoping this is a rest rather than an absolute final goodbye. If you’ve never seen ‘Single, Out’, now’s the time to start watching it – you’re in for a fun time and you can thank me later!
