Clark appears on the prestigious list alongside fellow Nashville heavyweights Shane McAnally and Josh Osborne, with the publication praising the trio as “Music Row pros par excellence” and highlighting their ability to craft songs defined by “crisp hooks, witty wordplay” and storytelling that “click and whir like little machines.” Clark, in particular, was singled out as not only a master songwriter but “a star recording artist in her own right.”
The recognition arrives during a landmark period in Clark’s career. Fresh off winning Best Americana Performance at the Grammy Awards and Song of the Year at the Americana Honors & Awards for ‘Dear Insecurity,' her deeply personal collaboration with Brandi Carlile. Clark continues to build on a catalogue widely praised for its emotional depth and lyrical precision.
Her influence stretches far beyond her own recordings. Clark has penned songs like ‘A Beautiful Noise,' recorded by Carlile and Alicia Keys, as well as Kacey Musgraves’ celebrated ‘Follow Your Arrow.' She also co-wrote the music for the Broadway hit Shucked alongside McAnally, earning major accolades including Outstanding Music at the Drama Desk Awards and a Tony nomination for Best Original Score. The production is set to make its UK debut this summer at Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre.
Clark is currently taking that songwriting prowess on the road with her An Evening with Brandy Clark tour, an intimate run of shows that puts her storytelling front and centre. Fans can also expect new music soon, with a highly anticipated album announcement on the horizon.
