Keith Urban announces new Yacht Rock-inspired album ‘Flow State’

Global superstar Keith Urban is setting the tone for summer with the announcement of his 13th studio album ‘Flow State' arriving June 12 via MCA Records. Pre-orders right here.

Known for his genre-blending approach and standout guitar work, Urban takes a different turn on ‘Flow State,' diving into the smooth, sun-soaked world of yacht rock. The album reimagines classic tracks while pairing them with new material, creating what Urban describes as a feel-good, escapist soundtrack designed to bring listeners together.

Featuring collaborations with Michael McDonald, Little Big Town and John Mayer, the project blends nostalgia with modern polish—capturing the breezy spirit of classics like ‘Summer Breeze,' ‘Baby Come Back' and ‘Just the Two of Us,' alongside original songs including ‘We Go Back.'

Urban shared that the inspiration behind the album comes from the original intent of the genre itself—music created as an antidote to stress, built to unite and uplift. His goal with ‘Flow State' is to recreate that same sense of ease and connection, offering listeners a moment to pause, relax and feel present.

The album was produced by Urban alongside Dann Huff and recorded at his Nashville studio, The Sound, further grounding the project in his signature musicianship while embracing a lighter, more carefree sonic palette.
