Listen: Meghan Linsey releases new single ‘Blue’

Meghan Linsey has released her new single ‘Blue', which is a quiet, lingering portrait of heartbreak.

Written by Linsey and produced by her husband Tyler Cain, a producer whose work spans multiple Grammy-nominated projects, ‘Blue' explores heartbreak not as a dramatic breaking point, but as something that settles in slowly and refuses to leave. Rather than focusing on the moment a relationship ends, the song lives in the aftermath: unanswered texts, empty bars at last call, winter closing in both emotionally and physically.

“I didn’t want to write a breakup song,” says Linsey. “I wanted to write what comes after. The part where nothing explodes, but everything feels different. ‘Blue' is about the moments that linger, the texts you never send, the places that suddenly feel empty, and realizing you’re still carrying someone long after they’re gone. It’s not about falling apart. It’s about slowly waking up.”

Sonically, the track leans into a warm, retro-tinged palette, evoking classic heartbreak ballads and vintage soul-pop while remaining grounded in modern emotional honesty. The result is a song that feels timeless in sound, restrained in delivery, and devastating in its simplicity.

Linsey has also announced that she will release her new full-length album later this year, her first in nearly a decade.

A #1 Billboard artist with multiple CMA and ACM nominations, Linsey is widely known for her powerful storytelling and genre-spanning voice. Fans first met her as one-half of the duo Steel Magnolia, followed by a breakout run as a finalist on The Voice, where her performances topped both iTunes and Billboard charts. Her voice is also instantly recognizable as the theme of Netflix’s Emmy Award–winning series Queer Eye, alongside collaborations with artists including Aloe Blacc, Chingy, and Fred Schneider of The B-52’s.

Recently, Linsey performed at the 2025 GRAMMYs on the Hill Advocacy Day Awards and Variety’s 2025 inaugural Power of Women Nashville event, continuing to solidify her place as one of music’s most compelling and emotionally resonant voices.
