Atlus announces label debut album ‘Art of Letting Go,’ a raw and reflective new chapter

Platinum recording artist Atlus is stepping into a defining new era with the announcement of his label debut album ‘Art of Letting Go,' set for release on March 20 via BBR Music Group/BMG Nashville. Spanning 15 tracks, the project is a deeply personal statement from an artist whose journey has been shaped by resilience, loss and relentless determination. Rooted in country but threaded with pop, rock and hip-hop influences, the album reflects the full emotional spectrum of a storyteller unafraid to sit with both joy and pain.

The album takes its name from its title track, a song that confronts grief head-on and addresses the loss of Atlus’ sister to addiction. That sense of vulnerability runs throughout the project, which showcases his ability to connect directly with listeners through honest, unfiltered songwriting. Produced primarily by Andrew Baylis, known for his work with Jelly Roll, the album balances raw emotion with dynamic, forward-leaning production. It includes Atlus’ debut country radio single ‘Devil Ain’t Done' and the newly released lead preview track ‘Spare Key,' which offers another glimpse into the heart of the record.

For Atlus, Art of Letting Go represents more than just a collection of songs. It marks a personal reckoning and a release of long-held fears and trauma. Rather than staying rooted in painful moments, the album reflects growth and movement, capturing what it means to carry experiences forward without being defined by them. That emotional honesty has long been a hallmark of his music, but here it feels sharper and more intentional than ever.

Before signing with BBR Music Group/BMG Nashville, Atlus built his career independently, releasing four albums and cultivating a loyal underground following. That grassroots momentum led to major milestones, including sharing the stage with Jelly Roll at a sold-out Red Rocks Amphitheatre, earning a Top 5 album on Spotify’s Global Album Chart, surpassing one billion on-demand streams, and achieving a Platinum release. More recently, he was named one of Pandora’s 2026 Artists to Watch in Country, further cementing his place as a rising force in the genre.

Raised in a single-parent household marked by poverty and addiction, Atlus’ music is deeply informed by lived experience. He began writing songs while working long hours as a commercial truck driver, often crafting lyrics behind the wheel to support his family and pay for studio time. That grind shaped both his work ethic and his commitment to authenticity, qualities that continue to define his sound today.

The album follows the success of ‘Devil Ain’t Done,' which quickly became an instant fan favourite. The track was among the most-added songs at country radio on add day, reached the Top 5 in Australia, and continues to climb the U.S. charts. With its infectious groove and introspective lyrics, the song expands on Atlus’ mission to create music that feels universal while remaining unmistakably personal.

‘Spare Key,' the album’s lead preview track, leans into themes of vulnerability and unresolved heartbreak. Built around a driving chorus, the song uses the metaphor of a spare key as a symbol of opening one’s heart to love, even when that openness leads to pain. It’s a reflection on loving deeply without regret, even when the relationship ends without closure.

Family remains a central thread throughout Art of Letting Go. Atlus has often cited them as his primary motivation, and his success has allowed him to retire his mother after years of working multiple jobs to support both his family and his music dreams. At 33, those experiences continue to inform the perspective and emotional weight of his songwriting.

As anticipation builds for the album’s release, Atlus is also hitting the road. He kicks off his 2026 tour dates in Portland, Oregon, supporting Alexandra Kay, bringing the stories and emotions of Art of Letting Go directly to audiences as he enters this pivotal new chapter.
