Transatlantic Radio, the international AOR supergroup based in Los Angeles, have unveiled the details of their debut album ‘Midnight Transmission,' set for release on February 20, 2026 via Frontiers Music Srl. Alongside the announcement, the band have dropped the first single, ‘Wide Awake,' a soaring hard-rock anthem centred on reclaiming confidence after a toxic relationship. Written by Victor Brodén and Mattias Osbäck, the track features a fiery guest guitar solo from Steve Brown of Trixter and Tokyo Motor Fist, and arrives with a playful, high-energy video.
Brodén says the first single shows the heavier side of Transatlantic Radio, balancing the more synth-leaning moments on the album. “We had so much fun making the video,” he shares. “It’s a serious kick to the rear with a less serious visual, and we can’t wait for all AOR lovers to hear everything we’ve created.” Brodén describes the full album as a deeply personal tribute to the music that shaped his life, praising the chemistry and talent of his bandmates: powerhouse vocalist Mattias Osbäck, standout guitarist R.J. Ronquillo, in-demand drummer Chris Reeve, and keyboardist/producer Fred Kron, whose cinematic touches help define the band’s sound.
Formed during the lockdowns of 2020, Transatlantic Radio blend European melodic sensibility with American rock muscle, creating a modern take on classic AOR. The band’s members bring a global pedigree, with credits spanning Ricky Martin, Santana, High School Musical 2, Avril Lavigne, and more. Their acclaimed live debut at Malmö Melodic Festival 2024 proved they’re far more than a studio experiment. With influences echoing giants like Foreigner, Toto, Danger Danger, and Starship, ‘Midnight Transmission' pairs massive hooks and rich arrangements with crisp contemporary production, delivering an album built for both longtime genre devotees and newcomers.
