Finding the right audio system at the right price point is a total minefield. The market is saturated and every manufacturer claims that their product is the best so how are you supposed to be able to make a (no pun intended) sound decision? Majority is carving out its own lane as a brand that delivers high quality for low prices, and its latest product – Majority Pulse P1 – is no exception. With Christmas right around the corner, there’s no better time to treat yourself to a new sound system.
The Majority Pulse P1 aims to be the ultimate party speaker. Not just a system to blast out your music, it comes packaged with a microphone so you can burst out the karaoke whenever you feel like it. The first thing to note about the Majority Pulse P1 is just how light it is for its size. The speaker looks sturdy and heavy, so it’s a surprise when you pick it up and notice just how lightweight it is. Primarily designed to stream music via Bluetooth, that’s not the only thing you can do with the speaker. There are USB and Aux inputs on the back of the speaker, and a TF Card slot, giving you a lot more flexibility for your music.
The speaker lasts for up to 10 hours on a single charge and there’s a USB-C charging port on the back. It also comes packaged with an adapter so you can plug it in. This is a nice touch and makes the speaker even more versatile for every environment. You can also pair two speakers to give your party the ultimate vibe, which is another nice feature to have, especially for those gatherings in larger spaces. Enough about the features though, what does the speaker actually sound like?
Connecting the speaker to your phone or tablet via Bluetooth is simple, and the speaker boasts a 10m range. The speaker is powered by an 80W amplifier paired with a 6.5inch low-frequency driver. There’s a bass boost button on the top, which does give the speaker a bit of oomph. With a recommended retail price of £99.99, the sound quality of the speaker is decent. If crystal clear high-quality audio is what you want, this speaker isn’t going to deliver that, but it is perfectly fine for gatherings and as a gift for kids. The microphone that comes with the speaker is fairly decent too; it’s certainly decent enough for a karaoke party over the festive holidays or for the kids to entertain themselves with.
Perhaps one of the biggest draws of the speaker is the LED display on the front. There are six different settings that you can cycle through using the LED button on the top of the speaker, and you can turn the display off, if you’re feeling particularly miserable this Christmas. The LED displays pulsates along with the music and it’s a really nice feature. It also means you don’t have to be in the brightest of settings because the LED lights will provide a decent light source (and atmosphere).
I really like how clear the controls are on top of the speaker. That’s another draw as the controls make it really easy to use. The volume buttons are huge and the buttons to cycle through modes, change the song or boost the bass are really obvious. Even the most technologically challenged person should be able to use the speaker!
The Majority Pulse P1 is a decent product for the price point. If you’re expecting high-end sound then this isn’t going to be the speaker for you but if you’re looking for a solid product that will deliver the right vibe at Christmas, this is a solid choice. I can see families gathering around it for a karaoke party and kids dancing and singing with their friends in their rooms. The Majority Pulse P1 is an attractive product and for the price, there really is very little to complain about.
