Platinum-selling country singer-songwriter Robyn Ottolini has dropped her latest single, ‘Airplane Bottle,' now available on all digital streaming platforms. Known for her candid storytelling and conversational lyrics, Ottolini channels a disastrous first date into an addictive, emotionally raw track that blends country grit with melodic swagger.
The song recounts an evening that began with her date bringing his own airplane bottle of vodka to the bar and ended with Ottolini left stranded by the roadside.
“‘Airplane Bottle’ is such a serendipitous song for me,” Ottolini shares with Wide Open Country. “I went on a first date in Nashville and was having the time of my life, until I wasn’t. Looking back I can see the red flags, especially after writing this song 2 days later while actively processing it with my producer and friends. It feels so conversational and on the nose of what I went through, that I can’t imagine any other melodies or lyrical changes to capture this small but huge moment in my life. It’s very reminiscent of ‘F-150’ and how I wrote out word for word what I was feeling, and didn’t hold anything back. Would I wish this date on anyone else? Never. Did I turn it into a song I love with all my heart? Of course.”
Produced by Grammy-nominated Jordan Schmidt alongside Lenny Pey, and co-written by Ottolini with Pey, Tiffany Goss, and AJ Gatio, ‘Airplane Bottle' highlights the singer’s fearless honesty and sharp sense of humour. Wide Open Country praised her “brilliant vocals” and emotionally authentic approach, calling the track another standout in her growing catalog. Ottolini, who boasts over 160 million global streams, is also set to perform at the Country Music Association of Ontario Awards on June 1, where she’s nominated for Female Artist of the Year and Album/EP of the Year. ‘Airplane Bottle' heads to Canadian Country radio on June 4th.
