Robyn Ottolini celebrates her roots in new single ‘In A Small Town’

Platinum-selling country singer-songwriter Robyn Ottolini is taking listeners back to where it all began with her latest single, ‘In A Small Town,' now available on all digital streaming platforms. Written solely by Ottolini and produced by Lenny Pey and Ryan Rasmussen, the song paints a vivid picture of her upbringing in Uxbridge, Ontario, capturing the lessons, love, and nostalgia that come with small-town life.

The song serves as a heartfelt tribute to Ottolini’s blue-collar roots, showcasing her ability to craft authentic, relatable storytelling while pushing the boundaries of traditional country music. The accompanying music video, directed by Ben Dartnell, was filmed in her current small town on the outskirts of Nashville. It visually portrays the cycle of growing up in a small town—loving it, leaving it, missing it, and ultimately returning to start a new chapter, only to watch the next generation repeat the journey.

“This song is so special to me. I wrote it alone, but it feels like I wrote it with my whole town at the same time,” Ottolini shares. “My hometown shaped me in so many ways—the people, the loyalty, and even the tragedies. During the pandemic, my town suggested via social media that I write a song about Uxbridge, Ontario. It ended up being specific to my life and small-town experiences, but it was instantly relatable to all of us. From the crosses at the red light to the bar everyone goes to, you never forget the landmarks. And if you’re lucky enough to be able to go back just to get an oil change from your pops, you can still run into people from high school at the grocery store. I know I still do.”

‘In A Small Town' is another example of Ottolini’s gift for capturing real-life emotions and experiences, cementing her status as one of country music’s most compelling storytellers.
