Walter Presents will launch dystopian drama ‘Arcadia' on Channel 4 and C4 Streaming in July.
The eight-part series is directed by Tim Oliehoek and it stars Monic Hendrickx, Gene Bervoets and Abigail Abraham.
In the dystopian society of Arcadia, safety and prosperity come at a price: every citizen is assigned a score based on their social contribution. This score determines your job, healthcare access, even your right to remain in Arcadia. If your score drops too low, you're banished to the harsh and lawless Outer World.
Pieter Hendriks, a senior Arcadian official, secretly manipulates the system to protect his daughters. When exposed, he is deported, and his wife Cato and their four daughters – Milly, Alex, Hanna, and Luz—face severe consequences. Their scores plummet, their privileges are stripped away, and they come under surveillance by the relentless Regulator Marco Simons, who suspects they were complicit in the fraud.Each daughter responds differently to their family's fall. Milly joins the border patrol to search for their father. Alex becomes a reluctant informant, spying on her powerful father-in- law in exchange for her mother’s protection.
Hanna is drawn into the resistance while trying to help those the system leaves behind. Luz, emotionally fragile, forms a complicated bond with the very man watching them: Marco.
As cracks in Arcadia’s regime begin to show, deeper secrets emerge. Lena Harms, a high-ranking investigator, uncovers a conspiracy at the heart of the state – one that ultimately costs her life. Alex is framed for Lena’s murder, while Milly uncovers that Pieter is alive in the Outer World.
In a world where loyalty is punished and truth is buried, the Hendriks family must fight to survive – without losing each other. With high emotional stakes and razor-sharp social commentary, Arcadia is a gripping vision of a future where freedom comes second to control – and where every choice has a price.
Walter Presents: ‘Arcadia' will launch on Channel 4 on 13th July 2025 at midnight. The boxset will be available on C4 Streaming from 11th July 2025.
