The second season of ‘Dark Rivers' is coming to C4 Streaming this May courtesy of Walter Presents.
Starring Mareile Blendl, Monika Bujinski and Davina Donaldson, the series is created by Michael Vershinin.
The gripping crime drama continues as former cop Frederike Bader, now in witness protection, is drawn back into danger. When her old boss, Jochen Mohn – now head of the Passau Police – suspects his ex-wife’s new partner, lawyer Jürgen Ritter, of ties to organized money laundering, he turns to Frederike for help. Unable to investigate officially, Mohn relies on her and private detective Ferdinand Zankl to uncover the truth.
Their search leads them to a secluded monastery, where they find Ritter – only for him to suddenly drop dead during a meditation session. His shocking death triggers a deadly chain of events, pulling Frederike and Zankl into a high-stakes game of deception and survival deep in the Bavarian forests.
Meanwhile, pastry chef Roswitha Hertel’s quiet life is upended by the arrival of Dave Henigan, a Texan searching for the truth about his father, a U.S. soldier stationed in Passau after the war.
