John Morgan, Billboard’s “Country Rookie of the Month” and a multi-No. 1 hit songwriter, has unveiled the final preview of his highly anticipated debut album ‘Carolina Blue,' set for release on April 25. The new track, ‘Kid Myself,' offers a heartfelt reflection on past regrets and missed chances, showcasing Morgan’s emotive vocals and deeply personal lyricism.

Co-written by Morgan alongside Tyler Hubbard of Florida Georgia Line and hit songwriter Jordan Schmidt, “Kid Myself” tells the story of a love left behind due to immaturity and self-doubt. “It was the first time I ever wrote with Tyler Hubbard, and I was so nervous,” Morgan shared. “I knew I had to bring a strong idea to the session, or I might never get the chance again. Thankfully, ‘Kid Myself’ resonated with Tyler and Jordan, and we created something really special. It’s about a relationship that could have been ‘the one’ if I had been ready for it—but ultimately, it’s about self-forgiveness.”
Morgan’s ‘Carolina Blue' features 12 tracks that blend modern country storytelling with raw, nostalgic elements, reinforcing his reputation as an “accomplished songwriter” (People) and “Music City songwriting star” (The Tennessean). The North Carolina native not only co-wrote every track but also played every guitar part and co-produced the album alongside Brent Anderson. The album highlights his ability to craft compelling narratives, whether through heartfelt ballads or energetic, stadium-ready anthems.
Morgan is set to take his new music on the road, opening for Chase Matthew, performing at Tortuga Music Festival and Stagecoach, and joining Kane Brown’s tour later this year. With ‘Carolina Blue,' he cements his place as one of country music’s most exciting rising stars.
