Cody Johnson and Carrie Underwood have reason to celebrate as their collaboration “I'm Gonna Love You” has hit number 1 at Country radio.
The hit is Johnson's fourth career number 1 and the 29th career number one for Underwood. The song, written by Chris Stevens, Kelly Archer, and Travis Denning, has garnered 200 million global streams and appears on Johnson's ‘Leather Deluxe' album.
“I'm Gonna Love You” has been picking up plenty of acclaim from fans and critics alike. Johnson and Underwood performed it at the 58th Annual CMA Awards where Johnson won Album of the Year for ‘Leather'. Last month, Underwood made a surprise appearance at one of Johnson's two-sold out concerts at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville to deliver the song live for the fans.
Johnson made his UK debut over the weekend when he headlined C2C festival in Belfast, Glasgow and London. Wowing fans with his hit-packed performance, Johnson was one of the highlights of the weekend. He is heading to Australia and New Zealand later this week, before resuming his ‘Leather Deluxe Tour' across the US on 25th and 26th April at the CAJUNDOME in Lafayette, LA.
Underwood meanwhile made her debut this month joining Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie on the judges panel of ‘American Idol', airing on ABC and Hulu, which marks the 20th anniversary of her winning the title. She continues her run as the first and longest resident at Resorts World Theatre in ‘Reflection: The Las Vegas Residency' through 12th April, and her concert special, ‘Carrie Underwood: Reflection' is now streaming worldwide on Hulu and Disney+.
