Alison Krauss & Union Station return with ‘Arcadia,’ their first new album in 14 Years

After more than a decade apart, Alison Krauss & Union Station are reuniting with ‘Arcadia,' their first new album in 14 years. Set for release on March 28 via Down The Road Records, the highly anticipated project brings together ten timeless songs that blend stunning storytelling with the band’s signature musicianship. Despite years spent pursuing solo ventures and collaborating with some of the most legendary artists in the industry, Krauss and her bandmates never lost their connection. Their return is a testament to the enduring power of their music and the stories they tell.

The album features songs penned by modern songwriting greats, including Robert Lee Castleman, Viktor Krauss, Bob Lucas, JD McPherson, and Sarah Siskind. However, it was one track in particular that solidified the band’s decision to reunite. “‘Looks Like The End Of The Road’ was the song that made everything fall into place,” says Alison Krauss. “It just felt so alive—I could already hear the guys playing it.” As the album’s opening track, it sets the tone for a collection that explores themes of resilience, nostalgia, and the passage of time. Fans can listen to ‘Looks Like The End Of The Road' now and pre-order ‘Arcadia' here.

Recorded in Nashville, ‘Arcadia' also introduces a new member to the band: Russell Moore. Best known as the lead vocalist for the acclaimed bluegrass group IIIrd Tyme Out, Moore joins Krauss (fiddle, lead vocal), Jerry Douglas (Dobro, lap steel, vocals), Ron Block (banjo, guitar, vocals), and Barry Bales (bass, vocals) to form an even more dynamic lineup. Moore’s addition brings a fresh energy to the group while maintaining the impeccable musicianship fans have come to expect.

For Krauss, ‘Arcadia' is more than just an album—it’s a continuation of a long-standing tradition of storytelling through music. “The stories of the past are told in this music,” she shares. “There’s so much bravery and valour and loyalty in these songs. Someone once asked me how I can sing these tragic tunes, and the truth is, I have to. It’s a calling. I feel privileged to be a messenger of someone else’s story.”

Adding to the album’s significance, ‘Arcadia' reunites Alison Krauss & Union Station with the original founders of Rounder Records—Ken Irwin, Marian Leighton Levy, Bill Nowlin, and John Virant—who first signed Krauss when she was just 14. Now leading Down The Road Records, their continued partnership reflects decades of trust and artistic collaboration.

Alongside the album, Alison Krauss & Union Station will embark on the Arcadia 2025 Tour, their first major tour together in over a decade. With 75 North American dates, the tour is already generating overwhelming demand, with most stops selling out quickly. Featuring Jerry Douglas and special guest Willie Watson, the tour will visit some of the country’s most iconic venues, including Red Rocks Amphitheatre, LA’s Greek Theatre, and NYC’s Beacon Theatre.
