Randall King to release new acoustic album ‘Neon (Unplugged)’

Texas native and rising country music star Randall King is gearing up to release his latest project, ‘Neon (Unplugged),' on February 21. Known as a “hardcore country vocalist” by Billboard, King strips down his critically acclaimed sophomore album, ‘Into The Neon,' to deliver a raw and intimate acoustic experience. Fans can now get their first taste of the project with ‘One Night Dance (Unplugged),' available on all streaming platforms.

A New Take on Classic Country Storytelling

“There’s something unique about taking a song, stripping it down to just an acoustic guitar, and singing it with a bit of a different flare,” King shared. “That’s one of the beautiful things about country music. You can rock out with a band or sit by a fire with only a guitar and sing your heart out to the same song. ‘One Night Dance (Unplugged)’ is the first taste of that stripped-back version I wanted to share with all of you.”

Recorded in a Legendary Studio

Produced by King alongside Jared Conrad, ‘Neon (Unplugged)' was recorded at the historic Sound Stage Studios in Nashville, Tennessee—a venue steeped in country music history. Known for producing over 500 No. 1 hits, the studio has been the home of recordings by country legends such as Johnny Cash, George Strait, and Alan Jackson.

While ‘Into The Neon' was inspired by the glowing lights of honky-tonk signs that shaped King’s career, ‘Neon (Unplugged)' takes listeners to the plains of West Texas, where the stars shine as bright as the neon lights. This acoustic rendition delivers a more organic, reflective sound, reconnecting with the heartfelt simplicity of King’s roots.

A Stellar Year for Randall King

Released on January 26, 2024 ‘Into The Neon' garnered widespread acclaim. Publications like Texas Monthly praised his “unimpeachable Texas bona fides.” The album was also named one of the top country albums of 2024 by ourselves at Entertainment Focus and Whiskey Riff.

The album’s success was underscored by King’s first country radio single, ‘I Could Be That Rain' which has received 80 radio adds to date. Now, Neon (Unplugged) offers a fresh perspective on these celebrated tracks, highlighting King’s storytelling and vocal talent in its most stripped-down form.
