Max McNown releases new single ‘Roses and Wolves’ ft Hailey Whitters

Nashville-based singer-songwriter Max McNown has unveiled his latest single ‘Roses and Wolves' featuring country artist Hailey Whitters. The soul-stirring track is the second release from McNown’s forthcoming sophomore album ‘Night Diving' set to drop on January 24, 2025, via Fugitive Recordings and The Orchard.

Accompanied by an official music video, ‘Roses and Wolves' offers a poignant reflection on heartbreak and healing. “The privilege of hindsight helps us accept that relationships don’t always last forever,” McNown explains. “This song comes from a place of comfort in realising that the world keeps spinning, and heartbreak is just part of life. Hailey Whitters’ beautiful vocals added a unique energy that truly brought this song to life.”

Whitters echoed her enthusiasm for the collaboration, saying, “I was so glad Max asked me to sing on this! He’s an incredible artist, and I’m honoured to be a part of such a great song.”

A Glimpse Into Night Diving

“Roses and Wolves” follows McNown’s introspective single ‘Better Me For You (Brown Eyes),' a heartfelt ode to self-improvement in the name of love. Both tracks are part of the highly anticipated Night Diving LP, which is produced by Jamie Kenney (Colbie Caillat, Laci Kaye Booth). The album showcases McNown’s ability to seamlessly blend emotional depth with sonic innovation, marking a bold evolution from his critically acclaimed debut, Wandering.

McNown describes ‘Night Diving' as an exploration of “new and daring sonic terrain,” with a focus on creating music that soothes the soul and inspires connection.

A Breakout Year for Max McNown

At just 23 years old, McNown has had a meteoric rise. Named Billboard’s Country Rookie of the Month in November and CMT’s Next Up Now Artist in October, he has gained recognition for his heartfelt lyrics and captivating performances. His breakout hit ‘A Lot More Free' recently went viral on TikTok, with a celebratory post garnering 14.8 million views. The single has since amassed over 80 million streams, topped multiple charts, and earned placements on Spotify’s Hot Country and Viral 50 playlists.

McNown’s journey from busking in California to taking the country music scene by storm has been nothing short of inspiring. Drawing from personal challenges and the strength of his late brother, he has forged his path, earning accolades for his debut album ‘Wandering' and supporting major acts like Wynonna Judd.
