When young trainee police officer, Julia Gerloff meets the secretive stranger Nick, she immediately starts to fall in love. But after their first night together, she is shocked to discover that Nick has a huge swastika tattoo on his back. Julia’s father, Wolfgang, is disgusted, and even her friend Lydia advises Julia to immediately forget the guy. But Julia believes Nick, who swears that he has left his old life behind.
Julia starts to investigate and soon realizes that she is merely a pawn in a much bigger plan. When she stumbles across a network of right-wing extremists that extends into the police force and the Office for the Protection of the Constitution, Germany’s domestic intelligence agency, her life is turned upside down. She follows a trail deep into the forests of the Eifel to the abandoned bunkers of the Westwall.
There, in the old World War II defense facility, the police officer finds the hideout of a group of terrorists – with whom she has more in common than she ever could have guessed.
