On Wednesday, Nov. 20, country star Kip Moore received the prestigious 2024 CMA International Artist Achievement Award during the CMA International Reception in downtown Nashville. This accolade celebrates U.S.-based artists who have made exceptional strides in promoting country music globally, showcasing significant creative growth and development outside the United States.
Moore has become a trailblazer for country music in South Africa, a region where the genre is rapidly gaining traction. His groundbreaking efforts began with a successful tour in 2023, followed by his role as the headliner for the inaugural CTC: Cape Town Country Music Festival earlier this year. Add this to his achievements in the UK and Europe and you’ve got a well deserving winner of this award, an artist who has toured relentlessly outside of the USA and built up a loyal and fervent fan base in other areas and markets.
By forging connections with audiences worldwide, Kip Moore continues to expand country music's reach and influence, proving its universal appeal and his ability to connect with fans across cultures.
The week only gets better for Moore as he's released two fabulous new songs today. ‘Flowers in December' is a song Moore has been teasing for a while on his social media now. It's classic, acoustically driven Kip Moore – a song dripping in wistful regret and raw emotions as he sings about the cold of an oncoming autumn and winter to describe the feelings he has for a girl and a relationship long gone.
Second song, ‘Wildfire' is another slow-burner song with echoes of ‘Hey Pretty Girl' in the way the repeating guitar line sets the tone for the song. There's definite vibes of ‘Up All Night' on this song as Moore pledges loyalty to the girl he's coming for. You can listen to this song at the top of the page.
Speaking on the two new songs Moore said, ““We’ve played ‘Flowers In December’ a couple of times live and the reaction was just so visceral we knew this had to be the next song to be released,” stated Moore. “I’ve always been influenced by different types of music, that began when I was a kid. This song has so many different threads of those inspirations running through it. I’m also fortunate enough to be in a new chapter of my career, and so with that in mind I decided to make good on releasing more and more music as the songs are recorded, and so I’m also releasing ‘Wildfire’ today. When we wrote and recorded this song there was no agenda in mind and all the walls came down on trying to fit into any kind of perceived box. I hope people are able to feel this music the way we did while making it.”
2025 promises to be an exciting year for Moore as these new songs form the body of a bigger project and his tour dates begin to filter out to all areas of the world.
