Multi-platinum country sensation Bailey Zimmerman has released his latest song, ‘Holding On,' a deeply reflective anthem about resilience and finding strength in the face of adversity. After debuting the song live at the Grand Ole Opry and teasing it on social media, Zimmerman now delivers the full version across all streaming platforms.
‘Holding On' sees Zimmerman opening up about personal struggles, exploring the emotional crossroads of a relationship. It's a restrained yet powerful song that builds to an anthemic chorus in which we can almost see the lighters being raised in arenas across the world! He asks whether two people can find the strength to stick together when faced with overwhelming challenges. The chorus delivers a heartfelt plea:
“Would you be strong and keep holding on?
If this was your last breath, would you waste it on me?
Stick around when I’m in the dark, be the angel that comes down and picks up my heart.”
Sharing his message of perseverance, Zimmerman says, “No matter who you are or where you’re at in life, everybody goes through hard times. I hope this song reminds you guys to keep going when you’re faced with adversity because you never know what tomorrow may have in store for you. KEEP GOING, KEEP HOLDING ON.”
The release of ‘Holding On' comes just before the 2024 CMA Awards, where Zimmerman is nominated for Best New Artist, further highlighting his rise as one of country music’s most promising talents.
This year has been monumental for Zimmerman. Over the summer, he released ‘New To Country' accompanied by a lively music video shot in his hometown of Louisville, IL. Directed by Justin Clough, the video celebrates his country roots with scenes of boats, trucks, ATVs, and fireworks. His latest radio single, ‘Holy Smokes' has already racked up over 1.1 million US track equivalents, following the success of his Platinum-selling hit ‘Where It Ends,' which topped country radio for two weeks and marked his fourth consecutive No. 1 single.
Zimmerman is also featured on the Twisters: The Album soundtrack with the song ‘Hell Or High Water' joining country stars like Luke Combs, Miranda Lambert, and Kane Brown. His debut album earned critical acclaim and set streaming records, becoming the biggest all-genre streaming debut album since 2021 and the biggest country debut album of all time.
