Columbia Records/Sony Music Nashville’s rising star Alana Springsteen is back with two powerhouse new tracks, ‘cowboy' and ‘hold my beer,' signalling an exciting new chapter in her career. The reflective ‘cowboy' and the high-energy anthem ‘hold my beer' showcase Springsteen's fearless storytelling and offer fans a glimpse into her evolving artistry. The release follows her critically acclaimed debut album, ‘TWENTY SOMETHING' (2023), and is available to stream now.
Springsteen explains the dual release as a reflection of her journey: “‘cowboy’ is my past, and ‘hold my beer’ is my future,” she shares. “After everything I’ve learned through writing and releasing TWENTY SOMETHING, I realized we’re never done ‘figuring it out.’ I might still end up in relationships that don’t work out, but I’ll be more confident in myself.”
She further reveals the emotional weight behind “cowboy,” explaining that it’s about a painful relationship that still lingers in her mind. “The guy that ‘cowboy’ is about hurt me in ways I’m still coming to terms with. But ‘hold my beer’ is my anthem for resilience. It’s for anyone who’s ever been underestimated or doubted. Starting this chapter with these two songs felt important to me.”
Released on her 24th birthday, these new songs are emblematic of Springsteen’s growth as an artist, continuing the hands-on approach she brought to every aspect of TWENTY SOMETHING. She co-wrote, co-produced, and even played guitar on both tracks, collaborating with industry talents like GRAMMY® Award-winning songwriter Amy Allen.
‘cowboy' is a raw reflection on past relationships, illustrating Springsteen’s talent for blending vulnerability with sharp lyricism. Co-written with Ido Zmishlany, Delacey, and Amy Allen, and produced by Zmishlany and Springsteen, the track features smoldering guitar riffs and pounding drums that build toward a stripped-back, heart-wrenching finale. The song’s visualizer, directed by Chase Denton, brings the story to life.
On the flip side, ‘hold my beer' is an unapologetic anthem of empowerment. With bold lyrics and a soaring chorus, Springsteen confronts anyone who underestimates her. Co-written with Zmishlany, Delacey, and Sarah Solovay, and produced by Zmishlany and Springsteen, the track exudes confidence and strength. Its companion visualizer, also directed by Denton, matches the song’s high-energy vibe.
This double-song release marks the beginning of an exciting new era for Alana Springsteen, showcasing both her emotional depth and her fierce determination to keep pushing boundaries.
Stay tuned for more from this rising country star.
